Xia Hang

An important source of this young sculptor’s inspiration was growing up as an only child in a multicultural environment.

Xia Hang’s notion of artistic creation is derived from an anti-modernist narrative, eliminating the binary opposition between the subject and the object to allow interaction between the work and the audience. The fact that these works can be disassembled and assembled not only subverts the established definition of sculpture, but also offers endless possibilities for the extension of the form.
