Ballastographe

Ballastographe
This wall clock is inspired by the nautilus, a type of cephalopod that has been feeling and groping its way along deep ocean reefs for over 480 million years.
The Ballastographe seems to be moving in a similar way as it floats above the surface of the wall exposing numerous layers of mechanics. Like the ballast of the nautilus, this unique wall clock progresses thanks to its self-balancing suspended movement whose weights change position depending on the state of the clock’s power reserve. The Ballastographe – with its regulator, retrograde minute track, small seconds, offset weight, and seven-day power reserve – is more than just a clock, it is a voyage in time. This limited series comes in a five-layer Candy finish on aluminum and is composed of over 400 parts.

Utinam
When Philippe Lebru woke up Besançon, the sleepy watchmaking capital in the heart of the Jura mountains, in 1993, it was to play with and challenge the codes of traditional watchmaking in order to think and create a new way of conceiving and experiencing time.
